AMIA, together with religious leaders and Holocaust survivors, repudiated the Iranian statement that questioned the existence of the Jewish Holocaust during WWII. They also requested the Argentine society at large, and especially its leaders, to join them in their complaint.

"We repudiate the Iranian president's permanent provocation and defamation, and request the Argentine society, its leaders, intellectuals and artists, the Argentine people at large to endorse our repudiation, shared by all the civilized world, by humankind," they demanded.

The purpose of the rally was to repudiate the conference held in Teheran, supported by Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad, who has been repeating his statement that the Holocaust is a "myth," and his call to "wipe Israel off the map."

The rally started with a video showing the images of concentration camp victims, and a notice that said "Over six million truths. Questioning the Holocaust is an offence against humankind."

Luis Grynwald, President of AMIA, warned that denying this reality "meant offending the memory of the victims killed in the gas chambers, and the collective conscience of humankind."
